Begushkin 7
Band Bios:
Gates of Heaven:
Gates of Heaven, two talented local indie-pop songsmiths—Graham Smith (of Kleenex Girl Wonder fame) and Zachary Mexico (the Octagon)—aim for an enlightened sort of electrochant that is both weird and stunning.
Religious to Damn:
Zohra Atash's brainchild, Religious To Damn, is that rarest of jewels--sophisticated gypsy rock and roll that's tender and aggressive, elegant and raw all in the same melodic burst. From the postpunk dancefloor to those psychedelic distant, dreamy places where dim fires illuminate the nighttime, the universe Atash creates is at times expansive, at times intimate, and always compelling.
Begushkin:
Recorded live to tape in two days, after a sleep deprived month of Beefheart style creative lockdown, Begushkin - Dan Smith's 8 headed hydra - lay to rest the twilight folk of 2007s Nightly Things and reemerge with the wicked & strange hard rock gypsy shake of King's Curse album. Smith yells and carries on like a man possessed with tales of the damnation of a robber king and the band plays it ultra tight & ultra heavy. Begushkin plays head bobbing, skin crawling higher tier creep rock.
