The Most Fun I’ve Ever Had With My Pants On

Drew: Cracking the surface of the salt flat, my favorite new instrument. Like glass on a tongue or sugar on ice. Solid bubbles popping. We spun and leapt across that flat while Will B. hand-held our shadows and Will H. held his mic to the floor.

Charles: A lot of photographers embrace vintage looks for purposes of easy nostalgia. I use vintage equipment for the opposite purpose, to unstick an image from the confines of time and date. I like to think that an exceptional image stripped of context gains a special air of mystery, and that this picture is as much about itself as it is about making a movie.
